The stars must be in line. As I am beginning my first blog post for and wondering where to begin, I stumbled across a 30 day Blogging Challenge for Teachers sponsored by
Edublogs. The challenge begins on Monday, January 10, 2011 and the topic is "30 Days to Kick Start your Blogging". The challenge is targeted toward teachers who haven't blogged before or are looking to improve their blogging skills. Although I have blogged a lot with my students using
Kidblog (which is fantastic!), I find it more challenging to create a professional blog. I think the hardest part is just knowing where to start, so the Edublog Challenge seemed like the perfect first topic. As I begin my blogging journey - so can you by signing up
here. What do you find most challenging about blogging? Any advice for a newbie?
Good luck, Cindy! I'm also a K-5 teacher and find that blogging helps me organize my thinking as well as stay in touch with the tech ed community. Welcome to the group!
ReplyDeleteBTW--thanks for putting me on your blogroll!
ReplyDeleteI am in your class. This should be fun and very educational as I have never blogged before.
ReplyDeleteI find it hard to blog about professional information because I want to blog about what the students are learning. I feel if I don't have anything great that I witnessed they learned, it just won't be interesting to read what we did. My last blog post I wrote goals to achieve before the end of the year. I already forgot what they were. LOL! But, with the blog I am accountable for them because they are out there and I can refer back to them. I think it is good to reflect.
ReplyDeleteInteresting challenge! I am also a student in your class. Kidblogs looks interesting. I have a blog site on my weebly web page. One of the most challenging aspects of blogging for me is finding the time re review and research blogs. I believe that it will take a certain amount of dedication to learn and get used to checking on. Juggling work, school, and my family is difficult enough. I believe blogging would almost need to be a hobby in order to really get the most of it. On a lighter note, blogging can also be useful for information or a way to tap into a broader base of information. Take this course for example... I have learned so much already, just from reading blog's of my classmates! I started a journal so that I could write down the great ideas being proposed.
